Summer Theme Weeks

July 5-8: Red, White & Blue Week

Celebrate the USA with your best star-spangled outfits this week! We will be exploring our American heritage as we read books about our country, make American flags and even create firework art!

July 11-15: Let’s Go Camping!

This week, we’ll be exploring the great outdoors as we go on a camping trip in our very own backyard! With tents, a faux fire, and some s’mores, it’s sure to be a fun week!

July 18-22: Nature Week

From plants and flowers to bugs and birds, nature has a lot to teach us! This week, we’ll be welcoming Zoo Encounters, who will be bringing live animals to show us!

July 25-29: Storybook Week

Bring your favorite books, dress as your favorite book characters…this week it’s all about reading! At story time, the older kids will read to the younger ones: a great way to show how much fun reading can be! We’ll even use the stage to act out some of our favorite stories.

August 1-5: Sports Fan Week

We all love sports, so show your friends what a big fan you are! Wear sports gear from your favorite team, play sports with your friends outside and make sports art projects with your teachers.

August 8-12: Outer Space Week

This week, we’ll be learning all about space. We’ll read books about the solar system, paint moon rocks, climb aboard a rocket ship and make our own planets. This week is sure to be out of this world!

 August 15-19: Pirates Week

Arggg mateys! It’s Pirates Week! Dress up in your bandanas, gold earrings and eye patches; we’ll provide the rest of the fun! This week, we’ll read books about pirates, make pirate swords and even search for buried treasure!

August 22-26: Art Week

During Art Week, we’ll be exploring our creative side with some unique art projects. Using straws, shoeboxes, paper towel tubes and more, we’ll all be little Picassos this week!

August 29-September 2: Beach Week/End of Summer Luau

Bring your beach towels, sunglasses and bathing suits for a fun week at the beach! Lots of water play and lots of fun!

Sadly, this week we will also say goodbye to summer as we finish out our Theme Weeks. However, to celebrate a great season, Cross Road will be throwing an End of Summer Luau! On Friday, September 2, parents are invited to join us at school during the afternoon for some food and fun.  More information will be provided as the date gets closer, but save the date!

* All summer program content for Kindergarten and Elementary includes Reading, Writing Workshops and Math skills.   Younger classes will be using summer themed content to review concepts learned during the year.  All classes will have art and craft projects galore!  We will do frequent water play during the summer, so bring your bathing suits and towels!
